The talk offers an introduction to an intriguing period of artistic and political evolution in Russia.Theodora will aim to present the major movements and artists of early Russian art and tracing the development of Russian paintings including Byzantine Icons, Andrei Rublev and frescoes in the Kremlin cathedrals in Moscow to the Imperial Academy and 19th Century painting.

This talk will discuss works by the Wanderers , which will be presented at an upcoming exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London ‘Russia and the Arts’ (17 March-26 June)
